ABOUT ME

My name is Ngoc /knock/ Nguyen; I am a third-year PhD Candidate at the University of California, Berkeley (Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management), advised by Dr. Trevor Keenan. I  obtained my B.S. Degree in Environmental Science at the University of Denver in 2021 (Mathematics and Leadership Studies minors).  

I love the environment and want to contribute to mitigating climate change, so I follow the footprint of CO2 in our ecosystems. I model how much CO2 is stored and lost through ecosystem processes such as photosynthesis and respiration, and study how this dynamic changes under climate variability. As all living cells respire, consume energy, and release carbon, the respiration process has been one of the ecosystem's two largest natural carbon fluxes. Therefore, what I am trying to do is modeling, partitioning, and upscaling ecosystem respiration using global datasets from eddy covariance observations and remote sensing.
