Grant Award Judge, Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (2020 & 2021)
I have been a Grant Award Judge at Colorado Science and Engineering Fair 2021 & 2021, evaluating Environmental Science Category projects of students from 6-12 grades. Although the 2020 & 2021 fairs were virtual, I had a great time listening to amazing ideas and seeing how much efforts our young scientists have spent on understanding sciences and helping the community.
It is such a wonderful learning experience; I learned not only from the students, but also from senior scientists who I have worked with to give comments on students' presentations and determine the final ISEF finalists. |

After-school Program Organizer, STRIVE Prep Middle School (09/2018 - 06/2019)
We are a group of six people with six different ethnicities, but we together share the same passion. We are dedicated to making STEM more available to underrepresented students and bringing our diverse team to inspire them. In this year-long project, we partnered with STRIVE Prep middle school, of which 99% of students are Hispanic. We have organized a one-year stimulating STEM program for 10-15 students between 9-13 years old with nine after-school activities in five different STEM fields. |
After-school Program Organizer, Pine Ridge Elementary school (02-05/2018)
During the spring quarter, my Pioneer Leadership Program Community Project team has explored hydroponics technology of GrowHaus Denver, and brought that knowledge to students in Pine Ridge Elementary School. We are dedicated to helping students have a better awareness of current food access problems in the local areas and teaching them about the importance of a healthy diet. During one-hour of activity, we introduced the concept of food desert and what our community is now doing to solve this problem. We also brought a fun activity to the class, in which students had a chance to make their own "fruit butterfly".
